Rev Msgr Wilfred Chwane Xaba died on 23 December 2005 at Harding

The Funeral was at Lourdes Mission, in Diocese of Umzimkulu on 4th January 2006

Fr. Wilfred Xaba was born on 4th Sept 1933 at Dumisa Mission, Umzimkulu District
of parents: Lucas Hlafuna Xaba & Tecla Phewa.

Fr. Xaba was ordained the priest on 21st Dec 1960 in Rome at Cellegio de Propaganda Fide.

Then he worked in different parishes of Diocese of Umzimkulu:
St.Conrad - 1961-1963
St. Boniface - Izingolweni - 1964
St. Pius Seminary - 1965-1967
St. Conrad - 1967-1968
Malenge Mission  - 1968-1971
Studies in Leuven- 1971-1973
Lourdes Mission - 1973-1981
St. Conrad - 1981-1992
St. Emmanuel - Mashayelanga - 1992- 2005
1992-2005 - Fr. Xaba was the Chaplain of St. Anne Sodality in Umzimkulu Diocese
 

In 2004 Fr. Xaba received from Holy Father John Paul II the nomination for Monsignor - "inter suos Cappellanos"

In the Funeral of Fr. W. Xaba participated: Wilfrid Cardinal Napier, OFM, Bp. William Slattery,OFM of  Kokstad, Bp. Pius Mlungisi Dlungwane of Mariannhill, 50 priests from different dioceses, religious sisters and about 2500 faithfull who came to pay the last respect to their priest.
The National Chaplain of St Anne Sodality together with National President and Treasurer joined us. There were present  the Diocesan Committees of St. Anne Sodality from Archdiocese of Durban and diocese Mariannhill together with Committee and many members of St Anne Sodality from Umzimkulu Diocese.
